FRIDAY MACARONI AND CHEESE

Here is a fun Friday recipe—nothing fancy, but definitely a comfort food to finish off a great week.  Everyone in your family will love this basic macaroni and cheese.  You can of course dress it up and take it to a party by adding broccoli, chicken, pancetta or even lobster.  You can even use pasta other than macaroni.  But you can’t go wrong with making this tried and true mac and cheese.

Ingredients:
2 T. butter
¼ cup flour
½ t. dry mustard
½ t. black pepper
2 and ½ cups milk
3 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 cup cooked and drained macaroni
¼ cup panko bread crumbs

Instructions:
*Combine first 5 ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat.  Whisk to combine and until mixture thickens.
*Turn off heat and stir in cheese.
*Pour cheese mixture into a square pyrex baking dish (sprayed with PAM)
*Sprinkle bread crumbs over top surface.
*Bake at 350 degrees until bubbly and golden brown on top.
