LAYERED GUACAMOLE DIP

The Super Bowl is coming up,  so here is a very easy layered dip that you can make ahead.  It is really good!

Ingredients:
6 ripe Avocados
Juice from 2 limes
4 cups grated Sharp or Mexican Cheese
2 pints sour cream
2 cups  picante sauce (or you may use the salsa of your choice)*
*You may even want to make the tomato chutney that I posted on the first day of the blog (September 13th).  You will probably want to add red pepper flakes and/or green chilies and jalapeno peppers to it for use in this dip.

Instructions:
*Mash avocados in a 9 x 13 pyrex dish with the lime juice, using a fork.  Spread mashed avocado mixture over the bottom of the dish.
*Layer grated cheese, then  sour cream, then picante sauce.
*Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
*Serve with tortilla chips.

Variation:
You may add a layer of refried beans on top of the avocado layer if you wish.
